Stark Varg vs Varg EX: Track Focus or Street-Legal Range?

Stark Varg vs Varg EX: track-focused motocross power against the longer-range, regionally street-legal enduro variant — and which one fits your riding.
One platform, two different jobs
Stark Future's Varg redefined what's possible in electric motocross, with power fully tunable from 10 to 80 hp on a single machine. The Varg EX takes that same foundation and adds roughly 20% more range, at $13,500 versus the standard Varg's $12,900 — the two highest price points in our entire adult electric dirt bike lineup. Both are unmistakably Stark: adjustable power, motocross-derived engineering, and flagship pricing that puts them ahead of most other electric dirt bike brands we carry.
The standard Varg: purpose-built for the track
The standard Varg is tuned specifically for motocross-track riding, where its adjustable 10 to 80 hp range lets one bike work for a rider dialing things back on a technical day or pushing toward genuine competition pace on another. It has no street-legal path in any region — it's built strictly for private-land, trail and closed-track use, so treat it as an off-highway machine, wear a helmet and proper gear, and confirm your local OHV rules before riding. If most of your riding happens on a closed track rather than long trail days connected by road, the standard Varg is the more purpose-built of the two.
The Varg EX: more range, and sometimes a road connection
The Varg EX trades a little of that track focus for about 20% more range and, depending on where you live, the option to register it for street use — something no other model in our dirt bike collection can claim. That street-legal path is real but regional: it depends on local registration, insurance and licensing rules rather than being available everywhere, so treat it primarily as an off-highway vehicle and confirm your specific state's requirements before assuming road access. Riders who want to connect trail sections by road, where local law allows, or who simply want more range between charges, are the ones the EX is built for.
Compliance either way
Whichever Varg you choose, gear up the same way: a properly fitted helmet, real riding protection, and a look at your state and local OHV laws before you ride off your own property. The EX's registration path doesn't change that baseline — it's an option available in some U.S. regions, not a guarantee, and it's worth confirming directly before you assume your Varg EX can go on public roads.
Which one to buy
If your riding is mostly closed-track motocross, the standard Varg's adjustable power and lower $12,900 price make it the more purpose-built choice. If you want more range, plan to cover more ground between charges, or like the idea of a regional street-legal option down the line, the $13,500 Varg EX is worth the premium. Either way, both ship free to the US, Europe and worldwide given their price. Browse the rest of our electric dirt bikes if you're still weighing other brands before committing to Stark.
